Tempe - Phoenix - Scottsdale - Arizona Golf Lessons/Golf Instruction for the beginner, intermediate and advance players by Rob Camacho
Today I was reading Golf Digest Magazine from 1996 that I saved, the November issue to be exact. The cover featured Tiger Woods, the year he turned pro - the year that Tiger changed golf worldwide. In his first professional golf tournament at the Greater Milwaukee Open, Tiger’s first golf tee shot was a 336 yard smash! It was obvious that he belonged on the PGA TOUR. It is amazing that it will be 12 years this August that he has been golf’s major influence.
The first time I witnessed his greatness in person was at The 1992 Nissan Los Angeles Open. I was standing near by as I watched him tee off at number 10 at Riviera Country Club. I could just tell that his golf swing was of professional caliber. The next time I watched his golf swing in person was at Del Mar Country Club in 1995 where I was employed at that time. His golf swing was even better and of course he produced more clubhead speed. I had a strong feeling that he would be a force on tour one day. And I am sure I was not the only one who thought that way, back in the early 1990’s.
Tiger will be missed now that he is out for the rest of the year. We will all just have to wait and see what he does in 2009. I am sure there will be multiple wins and perhaps more majors.
