Phoenix, AZ metro has over 185 golf courses, which makes it a true golf destination. And of course it is the year round weather that makes it convenient to tee-it-up. The city of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department operates eight municipal golf courses, all within a short drive from any part of the Valley. And one of my favorite courses in Phoenix is Papago, which is currently closed for a massive renovation project. If you live here in AZ or perhaps you are a visitor — you can choose from a variety of courses that suits your skill level, budget, and challenge.

This topic is for the beginner golfer and intermediate golfer, so I thought I would ask some questions…here it goes: What are you trying to do? I mean what are your swing thoughts? What is it that you are attempting to do with your golf club? Are you thinking about your backswing, hips, shoulders, knees, head, core, leverage, angle(s), width, length, swing arc, downswing, forward swing, divot, right left, move, inside-out, path, shape, outside-in, roll, fire, and don’t slide, and don’t move your head. Ok, the list could go on-and-on; I think you get my drift. I will say this, if you have a swing thought or more than one swing thought and you are producing good shots, then continue and don’t change. But if your swing thoughts are not producing what you want, then you may want to question your swing thoughts. Perhaps what you were told and are being told about how to swing your golf club may not apply to you, but may apply to the person that is helping you because of their success. If you are confused or frustrated with golf and/or your golf swing call Tempe golf lessons/instruction today. The golf lesson(s) in Tempe, Arizona are open to all new golfers and intermediate golfers in fine cities such as; Phoenix, Chandler, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, and Ahwatukke. Calling all golfers in Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona for golf lessons! Just because you live east of Rio Salado Golf Course does not mean you are out of reach for professional golf instruction. And remember golf lessons for the intermediate golfer does not mean that you regress before you improve. Most golf lessons are taken on full swing by a majority of players, but lessons on short game (putting lessons, chipping lessons, pitching lessons and sand lessons) are also offered by Arizona Golf Instructor, Rob Camacho.
Here is my take on golf lessons:
1. Sign up for one lesson before making a commitment for several lessons.
2. Define your goals. What do you want out of the lesson(s)??
3. Be open to the possibilities of change. Now change does not have to a negative. Remember to change what YOU want to change.
4. Rob Camacho will explain what is always appropriate for YOU. For example: The intermediate golfer may have an “open stance” at address. Does that mean I change that? It depends on ball-flight and what the player is intending to do with the golf ball. That may be the player’s preference at address. If the player’s results are good, I leave him/her alone on “open stance.”
5. Perhaps your swing is good and you just need help on how to play better golf. You need golf playing coaching, not golf swing instruction.
6. Golf lessons should be fun and rewarding.
7. Are you ready to improve?

The matter of fact is that all golfers want to play better golf in a short amount of time. But how do you know what to do? And what does play better golf mean anyway? The first thing you have to answer is why do you play golf? Do you play for competition? Are you golfing for the lowest possible score? Do you actual keep score by playing by the USGA Rules? Does playing better golf mean that you hit longer drives? Here is my list on how to play better golf and save time…
1. Practice your golf swing with a heavy-weighted club. I recommend a driver and iron.
2 Swing your “heavy-weighted club” for 10 minutes per day. This really does work.
3. Put a TRAINING GRIP on your practice club.
4. Get rid of your long irons and replace with hybrids.
5. Practice your short game 90 minutes per week. You know…putting, pitching, chipping, and bunker (sand) shots.
6. Make sure your golf clubs are properly fitted!
7. And don’t forget about your putter and wedges for proper fit…

Are golf lessons different for women than men? The answer is no. In my 12 years of teaching and coaching, I have found that my female students tend to not listen to swing advice from strangers, coworkers, boyfriends, husbands and other family members. And that is a good thing that every golf student should adhere to. If you are a female golfer and would like to learn how to play golf and learn how to develop a sound repeatable golf swing then please contact Tempe Golf Lessons at (602) 828-GOLF. At Arizona Golf Instructor you will learn at your pace. The instruction and coaching by Arizona Teaching Professional, Rob Camacho is customized to meet your needs. If you are a beginner golfer and live in the following cities such as; Tempe, Chandler, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Gilbert, and Mesa Arizona — you are just minutes away from a new game. And, for those new golfers traveling to the East Valley for business or vacation please consider booking a golf lessons while in town.
What are your top reasons why you play golf? Do you play for competition, fun, exercise, fresh air, to escape the daily grind, the challenge of hitting the ball and putting that ball in the hole? Perhaps you are in pursuit of the perfect swing or perfect shot. The game of golf gives you many options of why you play and how you swing your golf club. How times have you hit what felt like a bad shot but the outcome was good. Golf as in life is up and down (pun intended). If you would like to list your reason(s) or perhaps you have a good golf story please do tell…

I believe grass and mats (artificial turf) can be helpful for your golf practice. I was recently practicing at a driving range near my home and the grass tee was severely worn to the point of why did I bother. Also, the range tee was not level, I say that gently. This is when hitting (swinging) of mats would be best. I would prefer grass, but only when there is actual grass to practice on. I am a strong believer that a good golf mat will help your golf game. Perhaps you may agree or disagree here, but that is choice that we as golfers’ face. So, you may want to consider purchasing your own portable mat when your practice facility is not up to par. I will be purchasing one soon. So, if you or you know someone that would like golf instruction, golf coaching or golf lessons in the Tempe area, please contact Rob Camacho. Mr. Rob Camacho is proud to help all beginner and intermediate golfers in the Phoenix metro area. And don’t for get about your short game. All short game lessons are featured for your scoring improvement.
There seems to be a lot of interest in golf for kids these days. I think there could always be more programs for junior golfers. But, how do we make it affordable? Golf lessons can be expensive for some parents. You may consider group lessons for juniors. There are many courses around the East Valley that cater to junior golfers. I do favor private instruction over group instruction. So, here is what I am offering for new juniors golfers in the East Valley. A three month commitment: 1 lesson per week for three months. How much? $20 a lesson for twenty minutes per session. Please note that the range balls are included. So if your junior golfer is ready for improvement, then please call Tempe Golf Lessons at (602) 828-4653. Is it me or does it seems like a lot of the new golf clubs look ugly and cheap? Perhaps I am too old skooool. Maybe I am not ready for change, but I am ready for change. What is up with all the “colors” and plastics and other “game improvement” technologies on the golf clubs? I am not saying all the OEM clubs look bad. It seems that new golf clubs roll out like new cars every year. However, I do embrace all the tech advances and advantages that we as golfers do have at our finger tips. I guess I should keep my mouth shut because after all I do have a deep-purple 3 fairway wood in my bag. I can laugh at myself too, but hey it does work!
