Are golf lessons different for women than men? The answer is no. In my 12 years of teaching and coaching, I have found that my female students tend to not listen to swing advice from strangers, coworkers, boyfriends, husbands and other family members. And that is a good thing that every golf student should adhere to. If you are a female golfer and would like to learn how to play golf and learn how to develop a sound repeatable golf swing then please contact Tempe Golf Lessons at (602) 828-GOLF. At Arizona Golf Instructor you will learn at your pace. The instruction and coaching by Arizona Teaching Professional, Rob Camacho is customized to meet your needs. If you are a beginner golfer and live in the following cities such as; Tempe, Chandler, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Ahwatukee, Gilbert, and Mesa Arizona — you are just minutes away from a new game. And, for those new golfers traveling to the East Valley for business or vacation please consider booking a golf lessons while in town.
What are your top reasons why you play golf? Do you play for competition, fun, exercise, fresh air, to escape the daily grind, the challenge of hitting the ball and putting that ball in the hole? Perhaps you are in pursuit of the perfect swing or perfect shot. The game of golf gives you many options of why you play and how you swing your golf club. How times have you hit what felt like a bad shot but the outcome was good. Golf as in life is up and down (pun intended). If you would like to list your reason(s) or perhaps you have a good golf story please do tell…

I believe grass and mats (artificial turf) can be helpful for your golf practice. I was recently practicing at a driving range near my home and the grass tee was severely worn to the point of why did I bother. Also, the range tee was not level, I say that gently. This is when hitting (swinging) of mats would be best. I would prefer grass, but only when there is actual grass to practice on. I am a strong believer that a good golf mat will help your golf game. Perhaps you may agree or disagree here, but that is choice that we as golfers’ face. So, you may want to consider purchasing your own portable mat when your practice facility is not up to par. I will be purchasing one soon. So, if you or you know someone that would like golf instruction, golf coaching or golf lessons in the Tempe area, please contact Rob Camacho. Mr. Rob Camacho is proud to help all beginner and intermediate golfers in the Phoenix metro area. And don’t for get about your short game. All short game lessons are featured for your scoring improvement.
There seems to be a lot of interest in golf for kids these days. I think there could always be more programs for junior golfers. But, how do we make it affordable? Golf lessons can be expensive for some parents. You may consider group lessons for juniors. There are many courses around the East Valley that cater to junior golfers. I do favor private instruction over group instruction. So, here is what I am offering for new juniors golfers in the East Valley. A three month commitment: 1 lesson per week for three months. How much? $20 a lesson for twenty minutes per session. Please note that the range balls are included. So if your junior golfer is ready for improvement, then please call Tempe Golf Lessons at (602) 828-4653. Is it me or does it seems like a lot of the new golf clubs look ugly and cheap? Perhaps I am too old skooool. Maybe I am not ready for change, but I am ready for change. What is up with all the “colors” and plastics and other “game improvement” technologies on the golf clubs? I am not saying all the OEM clubs look bad. It seems that new golf clubs roll out like new cars every year. However, I do embrace all the tech advances and advantages that we as golfers do have at our finger tips. I guess I should keep my mouth shut because after all I do have a deep-purple 3 fairway wood in my bag. I can laugh at myself too, but hey it does work!

Last week my one of my students had trouble with his long irons (3, 4, and 5). His tendency is to swing too hard. I am sure we all can be guilty of that, so I had him start with his five iron by doing the following:
1. tee up the ball
2. grip down one inch
3. make three quarter swings
His tempo was smooth and his center hits on the club-face immediately improved. The result - more distance with a well balanced golf swing. I had him hit 10 balls with numbers 5, 4, and 3. You will be surprised to see how far your long irons go. Your mind will be free of trying too hard by allowing yourself to swing the club versus try to hit at the ball. In fact, why not take this drill to the course. I recently played 18 holes by gripping down 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch for all full shots. My results: better accuracy with no loss of distance. Why? My shots were struck consistently in the center of the club-face.

Do you need help with your wedge game? I am sure we can all use a tune-up for those 125 yards-and- in- shots. What about choosing the right club for distance and control? Do you play all your short pitches and chips with one club? How many wedges do you play with? And are your wedges fitted? What? Fitted wedges? With the buzz about club-fitting are your wedges fitted too? The golf shafts in most wedges are playing too stiff for most golfers. I do recommend softer shafts for better feel and control. And don’t for get about the loft and lie of your wedges, so if you need help with your short game (wedges) please contact Tempe Golf Professional, Rob Camacho (Arizona Golf Instructor). Can we learn from watching the best players in the world? What is it the PGA Tour Pros know that we don’t know? As a golf instructor, I believe we can learn from watching golf on television. Here are a few examples: Pay close attention to the golfers pre-shot routine as to what they do before they swing the club. You will find each golfer has their own ritual, but they will make it constant. What about course management? Before I go there, they do have the advantage of distance. But we can still take notice of club selection when it comes to let’s say driver or iron off the tee. The players on the PGA Tour do make it look easy; however, we can feel the thrill of a big drive or put for birdie as well. And, we can all dream of making a three foot put on 18 for The US Open…
